Err, yeah, not so much. Hollywood has always used the Academy awards to celebrate Hollywood product. The fact that Miyazaki’s Spirited Away one several years ago was an anomaly. Hating the film for the business is pretty futile. I guess what I’m saying is, don’t hate on Ratatouille just because it was popular and heavily marketed; it’s a good film made by one of the most respected animators in the world. If you have to hate something, hate an industry that is only interested in congratulating itself–hate Hollywood and The Academy Awards.
