This was a big deal for me. My father has almost NEVER told me that he was proud of me. All it took for him to say that was me moving out of the house. Oh well, at least I got to hear it.

wow. I’m really enjoying your journals. This is the second posting I’ve seen of your stories and already you’re capturing my attention. I can totally relate on many levels…respect from brother or sister….a father’s respect (or being proud of you for once…). I’ve never heard my dad tell me he’s proud of me personally. So, I understand.

I’m PROUD of you, son…
but it takes some thing more than an ORDINARY, everyday event to bring out my verbal pride…
I guess fathers are more reluctant to lavish praise everyday, because tha sort of devalues what is being said… :-??
