Yes we CAN! This is the first time in my life that there is a politician who I trust and stand behind and actually BELIEVE in (I don’t count Gore because I didn’t get behind him 100% until AFTER he left politics). And this is the first time since 9-11 that I am actually PROUD to be an American, and it’s not the bullshit pseudo-patriotism that existed back then (I say “bullshit pseudo-patriotism” because it was that blind “patriotism” aka fear that gave way to the Patriot Act, current war/blunder in Iraq, and Bush’s 2nd term). Now if McSame/Bush’s 3rd Term/McCain somehow, god forbid, actually wins, I may be seeking legal residence in Canada. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, since I now love America again. Well, I love what it could become under the PROPER leadership.
And yes, I DID tear up and get a lump in my chest. Think I’m a pussy? Than obviously you didn’t watch Obama’s speech.
If you are a U.S. citizen 18 years or older and are not registered to vote, don’t be an idiot, REGISTER! If you are already registered, HIGH FIVE! We ALL need to go out and vote this November for the change that America so desperately NEEDS! I know it may sound cliche and corny at this point, but I don’t care, I’m going to say it anyways. YES WE CAN!
Oh, and this guy can go ahead and suck it.

Them two are definitely making a big election out of small things.
The best choice is an in-between of the two candidates. Obama’s extreme is bad, McCain’s extreme is bad. What’s to be wished is that they will once again turn politically “mixed” once they are elected. I’d just emphasize that Obama’s talk about immediately retreating from Iraq and massively concentrating on Afghanistan is a typical disillusion. He like most Americans have little knowledge of the situation, of the project ahead. At the end of the day, we seem to have people talking over smaller topics, such as abortion limits, gun limits, welfare limits, and some general mindsets. And so often people forget that Lincoln was a Republican. And Martin Luther King was a largely a showman. Still, the speech was pretty, and symbols are important. In that sense, MLK was important.
I’m just tired, that once again the choice about the lesser of evils, and we’re left with people pretending to like democracy, while they actually prefer their definition of traditionalism, of fundamentalism.
I do like that expression,
a big election over small things.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be okay with Obama or McCain, I just think it’s a much closer argument than is pretended by both parties. You guys look fundamentalistic. “McCain, never! I’d leave or die!” “Obama, never! I’d leave or die!” Both side of shallow America.
The problem after all is in the hearts of individuals.
Why do they differ in the meaning of life?
Why do they differ in the sense of history?
Why do they lack in knowledge of the world?
Why do they lack in knowledge of systems?
Lack of time, lack of care, who knows.
We’ll just have to hope the candidates hire good advisors, and the general public sticks to some sense of decency to influence political imagery.
Both ways, it should turn out fine. But both ways, they’ll have to rebuild the fundament of American economy first.

Um, for starters, abortion is NOT a “small issue”. Ask any woman and she’ll tell you just how “small” it is. And I think MLK was a little more important (aka a LOT more important) than being just a “showman” and being just a “symbol”. He was a LOT more than that.
Are you REALLY ok with McCain? I’m sorry, but America can NOT survive four more years of this. We just can’t. And now with Palin on the ticket? Say good-bye to a woman’s right to choose and hello to a 100 year war in Iraq and higher gas prices and more tax breaks for the rich. No thank you. Not in my country.
While I agree that in time a moderate leader is in order, what we need right now is a massive change (Obama) to get BACK on the right track, a track that we fell off 8 years ago when Bush Jr. “won” the election.

Obama is a GREAT orator; he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
BUT, he PROMISES musch MORE than he will EVER be able to provide AFTER the election… His oratory is inspiring, but he lacks the experience… (But then again, how much experience did G W Bush have? he was an ignorant babe in the woods, and I was amazed that 55% of voting voters were gullible enough to elect him for the second term…)
McCain has the experience and maturity, but he is almost as boring an orator as Gore was… and only Palin has brought some exitement into the Republican campaign. It is shameful that politicians make MISLEADING statements to confuse and brainwash the public. If you REALLY believe that McCain wants to keep troops in Iraq for 100 years, then you “have been had”.
Again, it is sad that MONEY will win the election: the party that has MORE money to spend on propaganda can and WILL spread more half-truths, untruths, misleadings and actual LIES to brainwash the voters…
AND, the whole election is now tinged with the afteraffects of the CRIMINAL behavior and GREED of the financiers and money lenders… They should be criminally charged, prosecutd and jailed… (Too BAD, only in this instance, that this is NOT China, where they would be arested, tried, convicted and executed within a matter of WEEKS, if not within a few DAYS).
And, as far as G W B**h, he will NEVER be tried for war crimes, for which he SHOULD, but USA is not going to be the “conquered”, so he is safe, but can you imagine if this country was like Germany after WWII?…. MANY heads would roll: Bush, Cheyney, Rumsfeld, and their lot… no? You can add to the list…
ANYWAY: VOTE your conscience, AFTER examining ALL sides, after using your BRAIN…

BTW: Canada will no longer accept “consciencious objectors” or deserters… Canada would send them back… so, look for a different haven…, Somalia? Darfur?…………….????
