inkdick: september 13 2008 - victim

I am fucked beyond all belief. Fucked fucked fucked. I worked hard to move money around and find money and save some money and made a lot of huge sacrifices to get this computer. But I figured it was worth it. It was going to last me 4 to 5 years and I was going to be the computer I used when I crossed the line from student/amateur into being a professional cartoonist. It was more than a computer, it represented a dream and a better life.

That’s all gone now.

The lesson here is that in this world good people get shat upon and bad people get away with everything. Or maybe I’m a bad person and I deserved this. Or maybe if God exists, God hates me so fucking much for reasons unknown. Or maybe there is no God or something like it. I don’t know. I just don’t know anymore.

I am fucked. I just gave away over 2,000 dollars and have nothing to show for it but tears and the worst feeling in the world in the pit of my stomach. Well, I did get a free iPod and printer (they didn’t steal that, oddly enough). Fuck. I don’t know what I am going to do. The computer I have now is slowly dying on me and I don’t exactly have another 2,000 bucks lying around to replace my just stolen computer. I owned that computer for 10 fucking minutes, and now it’s gone. I am fucked and I don’t know what to do. I fucking don’t.

Maybe if I eat only one small meal a day I can save up some money again. I have to get a sucky and degrading minimum wage job because no one else wants to hire me or give me a chance. I need to sell all my shit. Maybe I’ll have another 2,000 bucks saved up in a few years. God…

I covered the damn thing up in the back best I could, you couldn’t see it unless you knew what to look for (we were probably followed fom the Apple store). We were not gone for more than an hour eating lunch. They used a fucking electric drill to drill into the car’s driver’s side lock to get in. They steal the computer but leave the new printer and bag with my journal comics book and sketchbook alone. 2,000 bucks. Gone just like that.

Should I ask for donations on here? In the past I’ve seen webcartoonists ask for donations on their sites, even when they weren’t in times of need. Like, if you give me ten or more dollars I’ll draw you a nice inked drawing and I’ll send it to you in the mail? I don’t know if I’m popular enough as a webcomic artist yet to do that. And I feel bad asking for money when the economy is so bad right now. Should I do this? Ask for donations? Please tell me if I should do it or not.

At the Apple store they said they couldn’t do shit for me even though I have it under a warrenty and I have the police report to prove I’m not making the theft up, but no. Fuck them. My mom called the insurance company, she said they might be able to cover some of it as property damage, but I don’t know, it sounds like it will fall through or I’d only get a very small part of it back. Andy (it was his car that got broken in to) might be able to claim it under his insurance, but I don’t know, I’m not under his insurance and it wasn’t his computer. And his rates are going to go up now because of the drilled keyhole, I feel so fucking horrible.

Maybe I am a horrible person after all.

This fucking sucks. Everything and everyone fucking sucks.

This is the saddest thing. You should put up a donation thing, as you could only gain from it.

That’s gawd-fucking-awful. If that happened to me I’d put on a black shirt with a white Apple logo painted on it and go around Punisher-style looking for the bastards that stole my computer.

But seriously, if you started a fund I would definitely contribute, and try to turn as many of my friends onto the comic as I could.

If Andy has standard collision coverage, then it should include “Theft and Vandalism.” He should call his agent. Get yourself another receipt from the Apple Store if you lost that. Submit it to the Insurance company. Also, if you used a credit card (sounds like you didn’t), many cards have theft coverage in the first 90 days. Check it out…

This really sucks! You should definitely ask for donations, drawing optional! Not everyone sucks though, especially the people who may donate money to the cause.
People need to link the post on their sites to drum up support for you, I know I will! All the best and hope you can sort something out
