inkdick: september 19 2008 - early fall bike ride

Fall is starting to creep it’s way into Savannah and I more than welcome it. It’s not the Northeastern falls that I am used to, but it is still nice in it’s own way. Tonight was the first time I felt fall in the air this year in Savannah, earlier than it usually comes. Usually I have to wait until mid to late October to feel it. I like it, and I’m glad it’s here early. I write my best poetry in the fall and winter. Actually, the only time I ever write poetry is in the fall and winter. Comic work happens best in the fall and spring. Music in the winter and spring. Summer is usually good for nothing. Is it weird to have different seasons for my forms of art?

The weather effects us all.

I won’t lie, I drew this strip while drunk after a party, so judge it as you may. Korean vodka is weird but good.

I have to agree that summer saps a lot of productivity from me too.

Just to let you know: You closed your iDonate site too quickly:
It took me a while to re-establish and validate my PayPal account, so I missed the opportunity to send in my 20 bucks, and to ask for a family portrait drawing, with ALL of us (including the departed Golda and Gardenia, floating someplace in CatHeaven)…
    Anyway:
Suggestion: Create and have open a mini-store for yourself, where people (customers, actually) can order ORIGINAL works from you, The Artist.
You have the talent, just need to establish a dependable reputation, by filling people’s orders without much delay… then it will get o be a “word of mouth” advertising…
Try it, you may like it. I am SURE it will work…:-)
    …
(BTW: it would be GREAT, if you could send an “ACIU” original sketch to my aunt Teta Stase, who, you remember?, sent you a $100.00 gift for your High School graduation……..?….:P…..)

Panel 2 is beautiful. Let’s hang out and get our draw on. You got my digits?

Tetis, I’m already working on a Ghost Car Press online store that should go live in November. I’ll still do the family portrait when I get the time.

I actually thought of you, macarthur, when I drew that second panel. I drew it and was all, “Man, that is TOTALLY a Macarthur-esque panel!” I was proud of myself.

I got your digits yo, and we totally need to get our draw on sometime. Take advantage of the last year in Savannah. I’m going to be too busy for anything before SPX though. But I am mulling around the idea of having a fold and staple party at my place the Thursday night before SPX.

:\ I used to write poetry quite often, but haven’t in quite some time… I miss that feeling of it running through my mind while I try not to forget it before writing it down. Glad you had a good evening. :)
