inkdick: september 24 2008 - my life is in your hands

It is weird enough posting my life online for the world to read. For friends to read. For strangers to read. For my mother to read. It is a very surreal thing to do. But it feels even weirder selling chunks of my life to people for money and for people to physically hold my life in their hands. Now, I’m not going to be an ass-hat cartoonist and be all “Boo hoo, people are reading my journal comic, woe is me!” No, I WANT people to read it, or else I wouldn’t put it online or sell in in the form of handmade mini-comics. It’s just a weird feeling is all. I mean, it’s my LIFE on your computer screen right now. It’s my LIFE that will be in your hands if you happen to buy my mini-comic (I hope you do). That is a very crazy concept to me.

If you so happen to want a copy of my life in your hands, come to this years SPX where I’ll have to first three or four inkdick collections for two bucks each, as well as my other comics (Boxcar Joe, Zak and Sara, Ghost, the SPX exclusive comic that still needs to be made, Omnology, maybe but probably not a new Rocket Tonic massive collection, and the last of the Grunge Lobster #2s). Yeah, you CAN read all of the inkdicks online and for free, but if you are a super fan, the option is there to hold my life in your hands.

Can’t make it to the Expo this year? Fear not, for sometime in November, I’ll be setting up the Ghost Car Press Online Store where you can buy all my wares through the magic of the interwebs.

Not only could I hold it in my hands, but I could also reread it when I don’t have access to the Internet. In class… On the bus… In a rocket ship to the moon… The possibilities are endless!

I don’t quite know how to say this, but if the internet were to try to sell me a t-shirt with a ’sleeping naked’ graphic similar to july 9th, I’d gladly purchase one and proudly wear it around the ATL.

not only can they hold it in their hands, they can read it backwards–essentially reversing the very essence of time itself.
