inkdick: october 07 2008 - the sound of democracy
So as a student I was eligible to vote early in person in Virginia, a battleground state I hope that I can help turn blue. So instead of worrying about my absentee ballot getting lost in the mail I can instead worry about my electronic vote being illegally digitally altered to vote for the crazy old guy. But at least I voted, and voted for the right guy for the job. I just hope my vote makes a difference.
I left Woodbridge later than I wanted to, so I didn’t get back in time to watch the debates, but I at least could listen to them on the radio (thank you, NPR). The debates ended exactly as I crossed the bridge back into Savannah. I patted my ‘I voted’ sticker with pride as I listened to further proof that a McCain presidency would be the death of us all.
Driving 550-plus miles by myself in a car without cruise control was not a fun drive. My foot killed after I got back. But at least I got to drink a lot of good roadside coffee on the way down. Yum yum!

i thought about virginia being a swing state when you mentioned that you’d be voting there before… let’s hope it counts! if obama wins virginia by one vote, we’ll all know who to thank.

let’s hope! and if, god forbid, mccain wins by one vote in VA, you can blame my dad and brother sadly. Let’s hope I can convince my mom who’s still on the fence before November 4th.

The important thing is that American’s use their privilege to vote! Sadly, for the past few Presidential elections, Presidents are elected by the majority of the American minority; ie., less than 50% eligible to vote, vote!

You used a voting machine, huh? Good luck with that. Hope you don’t mind your vote being changed to Bush / Cheney ‘08.

NOT to worry:… your brother, I hear, but don’t know for sure, did NOT send in his Absentee Ballot Application on time, sooooooo…… if Obama wins by ONE vote, it will be because of Juozas (and not your ballot)….:P…:P
