Well, after four years and one quarter I now officially have my BFA in Sequential Art with a minor in Creative Writing. I have graduated COLLEGE.

It’s a little surreal. There was nothing really grand about it. It all ended on a quiet note. Sweetwater did buy me lunch though to mark to occasion, so I thank him for that.

It’s weird graduating in the fall (I did an extra quarter because of my creative writing minor and that extra printmaking class I took back when I was going to double minor in printmaking before they moved the program over to Atlanta). If I had graduated in the Spring like normal, I’d be graduating with my friends from the last four years. There would be something just more epic about the whole thing. Now I’m going to awkwardly hang around this town until I figure out if I’m doing grad school or not.

I don’t know what’s next now. I don’t really have a plan. I put off this day for as long as possible because I didn’t want to be done with school. But now I am. There is no safety net below me now. I have to sink or swim, and right now that thought terrifies me. I didn’t try to get any work lined up. I didn’t try to start a long format work to pitch to publishers. In my mind, I was going to be a student forever. But now, the real world.

I need to get a plan.

I miss being a student.

Holy fuck I graduated college.
