Hey kids, remember Beast Wars? Hasbro just put up seven episodes online for free.
I was too young to really care about the original Transformers, but I was the perfect age (11) when Beast Wars came out in 1996, and I fucking loved it. They’d play it on the local Fox station in Pittsburgh every morning before I had to leave for school. It was great. My best friend at the time Matt had ALL the toys. My fav was always Rhinox.
But after more than a decade the animation does NOT hold up. For it’s day it was cutting edge, but not so much today. It is on par with Nintendo 64 graphics. But still, there is something to it that made me watch it today for almost two hours.

Hah…I can understand that. Its that whole ‘veil of nostalgia’ when you remember how awesome something WAS and see it again NOW….many things get ruined by lifting the veil……Luckily I think Beast Wars is one of those shows that can retain the effect because its well written…….atleast I think its well written…

Beast Wars still rocks - my wife and I rewatched the whole thing last year!
We couldn’t make it through Beast Machines, though - that one was always crappy :(
