inkdick: december 08 2008 good grief
Ah, A Charlie Brown Christmas. A classic. And probably one of, if not THE best Christmas Specials EVER. But I can’t help but get sad when I watch it. Right after Charlie Brown brings back the crappy tree to the auditorium there is a scene of three to four kids just bashing the hell out of the poor kid. “Oh, you’ve done it again!” “Oh, you NEVER do anything right!” Etc.
Poor Charlie Brown. I feel your pain, brother.
I guess this is in part why everyone can relate to and loves Charlie Brown. We all, at one point or another in our lives, feel like Charlie Brown. Good ol’ Charlie Brown.

I always liked Bass and Rankin’s last stopmotion movie “The Life and Times of Santa Claus”…..i watched that a million times as a little kid…..

Odd that Charles Schultz saw himself as Charlie Brown. The man who brought us “Peanuts” never saw himself a success. Yet, his comics are still going strong and just as poignant now as they were when he started 58 years ago. I guess that makes Charlie Brown a winner afterall.

HA HA HA! My wife and I both laughed out loud at this one! I know how you feel. My heart goes out to Charlie Brown every time I see that X-mas special!

Man, I’ll keep it real, and it may go against the grain, but I think Charlie Brown is a downer man. He’s like the comic equivalent of a Cure album. I respect other people diggin’ him, it’s America people can love whatever ho-hum comic characters they want, but I just could never relate to Peanuts.
