inkdick: december 12 2008 a better place
Recorded the SEQALAB podcast at Kev’s and Jarrett’s place. And what a place it is! It’s in a better part of town, it’s super nice on the inside, high ceilings, a good layout, and it’s just huge for what it is. Every time I go over to a friend’s place lately I start thinking about if I should find a new place once the lease runs up at my current place.
It’s a conundrum, because I like where I am but I don’t at the same time. I mean, we have a whole 2-story house with a backyard right behind the only grocery store in the Downtown area, are within walking/biking distance to pretty much everything Downtown, and I have a great print/mini-comic making workshop set up. Also, it would be a hassle to move. But on the other hand I don’t feel safe here anymore, I’ve had problems with stolen packages at this location, it costs a bitch to heat a whole house in the cold months, costs a bitch to cool a whole house in the hot months, it’s an old house so there are many drafts, defects, and various things wrong with the house, and a sub-par kitchen.
I don’t think the question is really should I find a new place in Savannah to live or not. I think the real question that I’m asking myself here is should I stay in Savannah or move to another city? There are to many pros and cons to each to make a decision right now. Or anytime soon.

Beyond the usual pros, cons, and in-betweens… I say: “move!” The world’s a big place. A little more home searching should be enriching.

Yeah, Kevin & Jarrett’s place is super nice! I was totally impressed/jealous when I saw it.

Yeah, Jarrett and Kevin’s place is AMAZING, but with all that space I wonder how much it costs to heat or cool it down as well.

k and j’s apartment is cool but that neighborhood isnt that much better. Its a little better maybe, but I have had some friends get into some bad situations right by that house and if they had a porch they would have just as good chance at getting thier mail stolen as you.
