inkdick: december 30 2008 somewhere in alaska…
I have this strong urge to leave my life behind without telling anyone and move to Alaska. There seems something romantic about that notion. But then I remember that I like functioning internet and I can’t grow a proper beard.
I am sure this is all to blame with my recent obsession with Northern Exposure.

yup…
.
I was OBSESSED with it when it first came out!!!
.
I don’t think Alaska is for me: maybe nice to visit
.
(btw that is the ONLY US State that I have not yet visited… hmmm… it’s about time…)
.
BUT not a place to live: I don’t like COLD… brrr, and especially, wet snow under the collar…
…
I guess I could never be a “snow bunny”…
.
:P

Oh ho ho!
I’d suggest visiting Seward or Homer in the summer (although it’s hard to go wrong anywhere in Alaska), there’s just about no match for the beauty. I’m from Anchorage myself, the biggest city in ol’ AK (300,000 people). I can’t believe some other Alaskan didn’t beat me to the punch on this comic!
Living in AK is like being related to a rock star. Fact; if you ever become resident you become automatically cooler to everyone.
ANYWAY
I don’t know if you actually check comments, but I thought I’d let you know you have a fan and reader up here in the last frontier.

You ever see Into The Wild? A kid did just that - all Thoreau an’ junk… maybe not the best choice in this day & age, unless you’ve thoroughly prepared yourself. It does sound wonderful. (Though Justin Vernon did it and made a great record… whatever.)
