inkdick: february 03 2009 paid to be me
For some reason when I put in vinyl records, I seem to be more productive artwise. I don’t know why, that’s just the way it is. One of my favorite records I own is Kimya Dawson’s “Remember That I Love You.” She’s always been a fav of mine (well before Juno came out). This lyric from “My Rollercoaster” stuck out to me and really hit a chord.
I want to someday make a living by being myself. I think most artists have this desire but only a few get it in life. I hope I get to be one of the few.

I share your desire. That said, it also reminds me of one definition of a “people” as they say in French to designate a celebrity like “Paris Hilton”, a person that is given frequent media attention just for being him/herself and producing no artistic originality, vision, or lasting value. A bit of semantics, but I’d want to get paid for doing writing or drawing out what I envision in life and politics, and not just for “being”, hehe. I’m looking forward to the Pranas clothing wear…

>I wanna get paid
Well said! Man… me too… No real job for all my life. Just flipping burgers… constructing and deconstructing homes and event halls… cleaning up trash… I’d even suck whatever to get a decent living… At least I’ve got a roof on top of my head… Thank god…

I just wanna get paid for refusing to crumble before the prospect of a 9 - 5 all these years.
Working on it.
