inkdick: february 14 2009 a very special inkdick valentine’s day
So it wasn’t an overly romantic V-Day for Amy and I, due to her horrible cold. We had a “left-over picnic” on our bed while watching Wonderfalls on DVD (which Amy got for me). Then late at night when she was feeling a tiny bit better we went to Denny’s. Yeah, it wasn’t romantic, but it was very us. But it did suck very much that we couldn’t kiss due to her cold. We’ll do the whole romantic dinner thing once she gets better.
I felt SO guilty, as Amy got me sooooo many things for V-Day. She got me Wonderfalls, Wall-E, and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind all on DVD. And to top all of THAT she got me all four turtles from the 25th Anniversary re-issue of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures. ALL FOUR! Plus candy. All I got her was a gift card at Victoria’s Secret, framed cover art of the Inkdick #2 minicomic (it’s of us on the beach at night looking up at the stars) with the ticket stub from our first date underneath it, flowers, Diet Coke, and some candy. If I was pulling in some money I’d give her more. She understands and says it’ no big deal, but I still feel guilty. Hopefully next year I’ll have money to spend on her, because she deserves it very much.
And hopefully next year she won’t be sick again. Hopefully.

Your gifts were awesome and MORE than adequate, and don’t you think otherwise! <3

sentimental presents trump expensive presents any time.

Jesus, you folks go nuts on valentine’s! Jaime and I usually exchange flowers and a nice dinner (and maybe handmade cards).

Aww…sweet!

Did you draw Amy leaking snot in the second panel? That’s romance at its truest.

Denny’s date? That’s sweet!

Improv dates are always better. :P Denny’s for the win!

Man, do you remember when the Jetsons were the Denny’s mascots? Those were the days.

My wife and I always go out the night before. Usually we just stay home and cook a good brunch on v-day. It’s usually cheaper that way, you know? I think Denny’s is a great v-day treat.

Well, Amy’s presents were sentimental AND expensive, so she still takes the cake anyway you slice it.
Paul, nothing says ‘romance’ like snot coming out of the nose of the one you love. Put THAT on a Hallmark card and make millions.
I thought it was Flintstones, not the Jetsons. Or maybe it was both. I mean, they DID have that crossover movie…
I’m glad so many of you guys dig the fact my V-Day dinner was at Denny’s. I told Amy we should make Denny’s a V-Day tradition from now on and then she just glared at me…

A tender, loving glare?

Well, Matthew ruined Valentines and our anniversary by being sick/not getting his homework done on time, and we didn’t even get to go to Denny’s, so at least you did something.
