inkdick: march 02 2009 sleeping in my fuzzy warm hat
It is March in Savannah. Yet it is super cold. In fact, they thought it was going to snow last night (it didn’t). A week ago it was in the 70s. That is one thing I won’t miss when I leave Savannah, the Savannah “winters”. Winter here means that the weather will become very fickle between extreme colds and extreme warms. One week it can be in the 30, next week it’ll be in the 80s, then two days in the 40, a day in the 70s, and so on. I don’t like it.
And this house is drafty as hell with no insulation whatsoever, and even though I finally have a job now, it doesn’t exactly pay a ton, so I can’t be throwing my money away on super high heating bills. Some of the people in this house keep turning up the heat super high all the time which really gets to me, but that is another topic that I won’t get into here.
Even if I did have the money though, I’d still live this way I think. What can I say, I’m cheap, I like having money, I like saving money on utilities. And the fuzzy hat works well enough for now.

I love your fuzzy hat! You should wear it every day, even when it’s sweltering out.

Reminds me of when I lived at home; my dad was very cheap when it came to heating the home. Imagine winters in Buffalo!

don’t forget to unplug ALL wall chargers, flip the light switches, super-glue the thermostat @ LOW… :P
sometimes… cheap is GOOD :P

why dont you buy one of the space heaters that dont fall down i had one when i was in the apartment with will. it was a tower peice that if it got to hot, something was infront of it, or if it fell it would turn off it cost me i think 30 bucks and i stayed warm all winter.

It was like that in our old apartment in NY. we had these little heaters in the bathroom and bedroom to keep us warm. Also our kitties would sleep on our heads at night.

We do have a space heater, but I think the lady at Lowe’s who sold it too me was full of shit as it doesn’t heat up the room at all and all it really does is eat up electricity, so we put it away in a corner. :(
I wish I had a kitty to keep me warm. Amy and I want one, but don’t think we’ll get one until we move out to Portland in a year or so.
