inkdick: march 14 2009 drunk lady and some stolen nuts
So it’s St. Patty’s weekend here in Savannah, and that means one thing: drunk tourists. Tourists are bad enough as it is, but add alcohol to the equation? Well, you get what you see above.
Okay, I admit, this is a very extreme example and actually for the most part everyone else today in the store was pretty okay, except for this one woman! There was actually a really cute encounter later in the night where I helped a buzzed/drunk mom pick out candy for her four year old kid. She was even nice enough to tip me and my co-worker a buck or two for helping her out. But what do I decide to do my comic for the day about? The one drunk lady who almost bit my head off because SHE was the one walking out of the store without paying for her nuts. Shows how one bad apple can ruin an otherwise okay day.
I will be happy when this stupid holiday is over and this town goes back to “normal”.

I think she just got pissed cause you used the word “steal”, since it’s pretty accusitory. Maybe she didn’t notice she was leaving with them.
Or she could just be a huge bitch, I dunno.

. . . “pardon me m’am, you forgot to pay for those peanuts” . . . then as soon as walks out the door she is officially stealing. Just some PR stuff I had to learn when working retail and as a waitress when people would walk out the door ‘forgetting to pay their food bill’

Ok, for these comics I have to streamline things to get it down into three to four panels. This lady was being a bitch as soon as she walked into the store. And when I said what I said she was more out the door than I drew her, AND she was running out the door. So…the time for politeness was long past. Also, after almost eight hours I was sick of dealing with the drunks who came into the store.

Drunk people are so damn obnoxious. Have you ever had someone sitting behind you in a car trying to give you directions while they’re wasted?
