inkdick: march 21 2009 too many customers

I’ve been working this job for almost a month now, so I’m starting to think I am getting the hang of it. And then there are days like today that just make me feel like I have a handle on nothing and they just drain me so much. I’ve handled days where we’ve gotten lots of customers before, but today was insane! I was literally stuck behind the register for two and a half hours straight! Usually there are small lapses in customers so I can go out and re-stock the shelves, re-fill the samples, all that. But not today! It was just so overwhelming!

I just wanted to turn invisible so they could not see me. But I don’t get paid to be invisible.

Busy is good. Means you’ll still have a job. I know the overwhelmed feeling, but busy is good. (and I’m sure the owners agree even more).
Like the comic btw. Keep it up. :D

The people need their nuts! Imagine they’re squirrels…cute, fuzzy squirrels.

I mean, on the one hand, yeah. I’m glad it’s busy because it means my job for the most part is safe. But still, sometimes it just gets a little overwhelming, especially when I was working a seven hour day that day.

Hmm, maybe thinking of all the customers as squirrels would actually work!
