inkdick: april 22 2009 there’s a red shirt in my cereal

I am not a Trekkie. Yes, I enjoy the Original Series for it’s campiness and have a weird love for The Next Generation (I blame Patrick Stewart for that one). But for me, I’ve always been the Star Wars fan. For a while I even bought into the whole idea that you could only like Star Wars or only like Star Trek, there was no middle ground. I later realized that that notion was all bunk and you could like whatever you wanted, “nerd rules” be damned. But at that point the damage was too far done and Star Wars was my epic sci-fi fandom of choice. I’ve just never been a huge fanatic about Star Trek.

But for some reason I find myself getting very excited for the new Star Trek movie. I don’t know why, either. Maybe it’s just the excitement of potentially living in a world where a GOOD Star Trek movie can exist (let’s be honest, there are only two and a half good Star Trek movies out of the ten made so far). Finding Federation Badges in my cereal box only adds to that excitement, even if it is a red shirt badge. And we all know what happens to the red shirts.

HAHA! That’s hilarious. Ever since I started buying the super cheap Malt-O-Meal cereal, I no longer get prizes in my cereal. I kind of miss them. When I was a kid, it seemed so magical to get those prizes.

Really? XD I did the exact same thing and my dad yelled at me not to ruin the movie….
He doesn’t know its a common fact that all red-shirts die.
