This kind of got me thinking... Are you happy living here on earth? I mean, you can see the wast universe out there when you lift your eyes a little on your way home. But that doesn't make you wish the earth was bigger. I always feel bad for all the rodents and bunnies in the pet shop, but now I kind of don't know. I can believe that once you've been born to a cage, the world outside can be quite stressfull for some.

Of course this isn't directly about the playplace, but I believe the question has it's roots in here somewhere.

one thing i noticed with some small animals is that more than their room area, they are influenced by light. having the sun during the day, and electricity during the night may stress them immensely. i don't know to what extent though. still, i'd be mindful of that.

self-centered judgment can be misleading indeed. some beings require music, other not. some go crazy without cheese, other not. the more you cross the boundaries of species, the wider the variety is in what is acceptable, good, okay, painful, so forth.

if you want to speculate on the hamsters feeling, you can either guess his psyche with your small range of observation, or refer to a bunch of test data. how big of a room does a hamster like, or find sufficient to live stress free.

i wonder if they have such a data. where they make hamsters choose room size or house types. perhaps they just like any place with food or toy, and enough distance between the toiletting area and the sleeping area.

some humans may be overly needy in wanting countries or the whole world to explore. that said, many like to stay at home, just facing their screen, playing games, and fantasizing.
---

i do wonder if a giant being ever really becomes a comfortable figure for the small beings. i may consider the cage a protection against the giants with unknown intentions, placing food one day, and maybe squashing you another.

Does she have a hamster ball? My mice loved their time in their mouse roll-around balls. They make one that is in the shape of the car. It was too big for my mice to drive it unless they did it together, but a hamster could probably do it. Also, I'm not sure about hamsters in particular, but I know most rodents are very habitual animals, but they do like puzzles to solve. So about once a month or so I'd change around the tubes in their cage so they'd have a new maze, bu I left their sleeping and eating areas in the same place so they wouldn't get stressed out. Man, I think I am going to get some mice again after we move. Well, I guess it will probably be rats this time since that's what Matthew wants.
