inkdick: april 27 2009 a new job?
So I applied to Primary. Don’t know if anything will come of it and I don’t know what I’ll do if I happen to get it. Would I keep my current job and have this one as a 2nd job? Leave my current job for this one? Some other third option? Who knows! There are so many factors is a decision like this, but I need to get the job first.

Dude! That’s great! I hope you get that job. Peanuts are fun and all, but a discount on art supplies means that not only are you taking in revenue, but cutting down on expenses, too– at least, assuming the pay is about the same.

oh man if you can support yourself just working at primary i would totally quit your job at the peanut place! it seems like working there just gives you a lot of grief and an art store would be much more up your alley :) good luck on your interview!

Pranas start believing in yourself. You have so much going for you, namely: Amy, Family (including cats) that love you, talent up the gazu, a place to live, a car, a brother currently serving in Iraq, your readership and friends. I’d say you are doing very well. Oh, yeah, and you wrote a play that was performed at the Kennedy Center in DC.

It’s just the way of the world. It works that way with women, too.

Pranas wrote a play?

Every time I look at this strip, when I get to the third panel, I look at it too quickly and immediately think, “The building behind Pranas is on fire! No, wait, that’s a tree with spanish moss.” And the stunned look on your face kind of looks worried as if the building were on fire.
Just goes to prove that you shouldn’t skim over comics too quickly.
Good luck with the job.

Yup, Pranas wrote a play his Jr year of High School. The title is “Parents, don’t let your Sons grow up to be Fanboys”; or something like that. It really is funny. I remember, the man sitting next to me at the Kennedy Center kept laughing.

I come for the comics, but stay for the parental commentary.

I’d rather sell paint and brushes than boiled peanuts any day.

would be a bit funny if the “man sitting next to me” was pranas himself, hehe.

Basically, when they see that you have a job it proves that you can do a job. It makes all the difference. If you have a gap on your resume leading up to the present where it looks like you were doing nothing, it’s really hard to get an interview.
