inkdick: june 24 2009 rain and sleater-kinney
A few years ago I had a chance to see them live in concert but didn’t know who they were at the time so I didn’t go (I was dumb once), and now it’s too late to ever see them live since they broke up a few years ago. This is the story of my life.

Yeah, I saw them during their last tour. I had pretty much just found out about them and I decided to go even though I was sick. So glad I did go. They were incredible live. I was one of the few dancing and moshing in the whole concert, and since I was sick and on Mucinex, I actually went BLIND at the end of the encore (Let’s Call It Love / Night Light). My brother got me to the bar for some water and I regained my vision. Was a bit intense at the time, but it makes for a great story now: I want BLIND dancing to one of the FINAL PERFORMANCES of Sleater-Kinney.
Just figured I’d share some Sleater-Kinney memories. Great band.
Oh, and “One Beat,” of course!

One Beat! It’s my favourite Sleater-Kinney song. Seeing them once and not knowing who they are is still better than never seeing them at all!

There is an exit off of I-90 in washington called sleater-kinney rd. that i pass whenever i go to visit my girlfriend at her college when im home. Thats where they got their name!
