As sad as it sounds, my friends and I do the same thing to one of our buddies. Poor guy should never have told us he tried out to be a DCI judge. He wanted to do official Magic games (for points and stuff), now he has become our “Unofficial” Rules Guy. = )

ive seen my friends play this. i will never learn it. do you get “perks” from learning it, like free cards from the shop or something?

Ahhh man i just picked up magic again too but luckly i still remember quite a few of the rules so it wasn’t that bad to pick back up again.

I think amongst every group of MTG players, outside of the Tourney players, that every one person will disagree about at least one thing with the game. You could always consult the rule book during such times. But it makes you look like a persnickety dork.

Oh christ, I played this game all through high school. Went to tournaments and everything. Thank the lord I quit.
