i liked it :( i know it was pocahontas but still… although the ‘i see you’ did grate on my nerves. get on my wick, as it were. did it at least make you come out of the cinema & think ‘wow our towns & cities are ugly’?
My friend told me prior to seeing this film that it was Ferngully, only live action…sort of. Even without that “spoiler” I sat through the film going, my god, this is Ferngully, what was Mr. Cameron thinking?
avatar made an impression on me:
(even though I came out with a sore neck: we were in the 3rd row front :(…!…)
the animation/graphics were “awesome”,
3-D effect NOT overused (like having things propelled at you),
Now, to see it it in I-Max!
I got more of a generic romantic comedy vibe then a Pocahontas one. Guy pretends to be something he’s not, falls in love with girl he’s tricking, truth comes out, girls feels betrayed, but everything works out for them in the end.
You know, that “at first it was a ruse, but then I fell in love” thing, plus floating mountains.

cliche’ story or not, the visuals are amazing and pretty much make the movie

Yeah, but when ONLY your visuals make the movie, a good movie you do not have.

Pranas, I remember you not liking Dr Manhattan either.

At least the Colonel was entertaining. That was the movie’s only real saving grace for me.

ps.
the “military” was over-stereotyped…
What impressed me that it came from the imagination/dreams of one man, the producer/director/writer.

Am I the only person in America who hasn’t seen this yet?

@Sean Williams

Only decent thing was the visual. Decent. Not good/great, and the story was overly done.
